January 2009 – Madrid, Spain
At an event attended by Madrid Mayor Esperanza Aguirre, Micropolix (www.micropolix.com) was inaugurated on December 12th. This child-size town measuring 9,000m2 is located in San Sebastián de los Reyes and it is one of the most important children’s theme parks in Spain. SIA Interactive was hired to develop six proposals in different sectors of the park for sponsors like Audi, Seguros Génesis and Seur.
These innovative, versatile proposals have received an excellent response from the public: more than 1,800 children per day participate in the six games. |

Attitudes Driving Simulator
First, an Attitudes Driving Simulator was designed for Audi. This software allows children to practice their driving, with varied levels of difficulty for different ages. At the end of the simulator, the young participants receive a score based on how well they follow the traffic signs that appear along the way. If they pass the “driving test”, they receive a Micropolix driver’s license; otherwise, they get another chance.

Driving Trivia
A Driving Trivia was done: in this game, children drive along the streets of Micropolix using a joystick and at different points along the way, an animal appears to ask them questions that they have to answer correctly.

Delivery Truck
The other driving game, for Seur, is a Delivery Truck in which children have to drive down streets while following the traffic signs; based on their score, children receive payment for their participation in the local Micropolix currency, the “eurix”.

Package Distribution
Another development for Seur involves a screen where children can play a Package Distribution game. In this challenge, children visit one of eighteen delivery spots across Micropolix, including the hospital, bank, library or market. If the participant meets the game objectives (which vary depending on the child's age), he or she also receives payment in “eurix” that can be used for purchases in the park.

Motorcycle Race
For children who dream of joining the police force, a two-person Motorcycle Race was developed. Mounted on a real motorcycle, each participant views the race on his/her own screen just like in a real race. A larger screen displays a bird’s eye view of the race for onlookers.

Flight-simulator
Finally, one of the biggest attractions at Micropolix was developed by SIA Interactive: a flight-simulator in which 10 children can simultaneously fly a plane using a joystick. The two children that do the best at avoiding the obstacles that appear during flight are the winners.
