July 2007 – Santiago de Chile
To celebrate the kick-off of the America Cup 2007, Coca-Cola was looking for a new way to promote its main line of products in Chile. To achieve this, the firm asked SIA Interactive to develop an interactive game that would allow consumers to participate and to win Coca-Cola prizes. The solution was a game of Virtual Penalty Kicks.
Participants who purchased over 1,000 Chilean pesos worth of Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light and Coca-Cola Zero got to kick 5 penalty shots and receive prizes based on the number of goals they made. The top prize was a Chilean soccer team jersey.
The solution made a notable impact on supermarket sales and attracted more than 4,500 participants in a month.
