Cummins Mexico has acquired a license of DocMan, a digital document management and consultation system installed on touch-screen kiosks for industrial plants. The product has been developed by SIA Interactive.

With more than 80 years in the market, presence in more than 50 countries and 6 billion dollars in revenues, Cummins is the market leader in the production of big diesel engines and solutions for electricity generation.

Following a recommendation of ELO Inc, Cummins CUMMSA (Cummins San Luis Potosí, Mexico) has asked SIA Interactive to develope DocMan, a digital documentation system that allows users to register and consult the processes required for product manufacturing on the actual production line.

The project is highly complex, since it allows users to generate and bring together documents from different sectors (manufacturing, quality, safety, production, etc.) along with multimedia information, photographs, videos, and 3-D interactive models. In addition, DocMan allows firms to closely review processes according to the ISO 9002 certification norm. The system interacts with Oracle Financials and it is based on Full Client architecture. In addition, it requires Zero Administration.

More than 20 industrial touch-screen kiosks, designed and manufactured by SIA Mexico, were installed at the San Luis Potosi plant, allowing workers at the production line to consult and update the information in an efficient and agile way.

“This project is particularly important to us for two reasons: it has been ordered in Mexico and this is the first Cummins plant in the world to incorporate this type of technology. We know that the rest of the plants are looking at us with attention. We hope to be leading the installation of DocMan in the rest of the plants, together with SIA Interactive”.
