Just a month before the beginning of ski season 2006, LAN set up its booth at Expo Nieve, where it presented a Virtual Snowboard Game developed by SIA Interactive at the request of promotional agency Nexus.
June 2006 - Argentina
From May 27-30, Expo Nieve at La Rural Expo Hall put this year’s selection of ski centers and products on display for exposition goers. The expo was a grand celebration where visitors could find out the latest trends – as well as the prices – of the ski slopes this season. In addition to the 23,500 visitors, the exposition attracted ski center managers from Argentina, Chile and the United States, as well as ski and accessory manufacturers, hotels, tour operators and airlines.
Via its promotional agency Nexus, LAN presented a Virtual Snowboard Game developed by SIA at its expo booth. Participants got onto a simulator and moved on the snowboard to make their way down the mountain slope and grab LAN logos on the way. For every logo, participants received points for prizes like ski vests, neck warmers and pins.
The company took advantage of the stand to let visitors know about the new Airbus A-320, charter flights to Malargüe Airport and the increased number of daily flights to the ski destination of Bariloche.
Participants were thrilled with the game. In spite of the fact that the exposition was held nearly 700 miles from the slopes, visitors felt the rush of being in the snow and the chance to win some great prizes. All participants received LAN brochures with all of the season specials.
“Ski fans eagerly await news on the latest trends and for us, it is very important to be in touch with them right before the season begins. SIA’s solution allowed us to offer a really special attraction that made visitors feel like they were really at a ski center. This was the perfect opportunity to let potential customers in on all of the latest at LAN”.
