May 2003 - Alcobendas, Spain.
The exposition hosted by the Alcobendas City Government consisted
in a summary of all that has been accomplished over the past
four years, and an exposition of what it is to come in the
next 4-year period. During the 30 days in which the exposition
took place, more than 60,000 people visited the show. Visitors
were interested in obtaining information and in participating
in the different attractions available for the public.
The attractions included games developed by SIA-RPM: a version
of Memory with images of different spots within the municipal
limits, a Question-and-Answer Trivia game with questions related
to the city, and a virtual penalty kick game that was adapted
to include the graphics of the exposition's sponsors. For
the virtual penalty kick game, players utilize a virtual reality
helmet to take a virtual tour of a soccer stadium. Once inside
the stadium, participants wait for the referee's cue to take
a penalty kick and try to make a virtual goal.
For the games, 4 interactive modules and 1 virtual reality
module were installed in the expo tent. The modules were constantly
in use during each of the exposition's 10-hour days.
"We appreciate the work and the commitment of SIA-RPM. Their
games were one of the principal attractions of the expo. We
are quite pleased with our decision to contract them".
