From 25-27 February, the Feria CIT 2003 took place at the
Palacio Municipal de Congresos in Madrid. This is the most important
credit card event in Spain Cards. SIA España was hired by the
Sentido Común agency to develop Virtual Penalty Kicks
and Guess how the game ends for the Mastercard stand.
March 2003 - Madrid, Spain.
CIT 2003 included the participation of the industry's
50 most important companies and more than 2,300 visitors.
The conference included the latest news regarding the use
of credit cards for payment, loyalty programs, and intelligent
cards. The latter was a subject that sparked much interest,
since its functions are facilitating daily activities like
the use of public transportation.
Mastercard´s goal was to offer an attraction
to its stand visitors, in an environment in which technology
is becoming increasingly important. To do so, via the Sentido
Común advertising agency, it asked SIA España to develop
and install two interactive games.
At Virtual Penalty Kicks, participants used
a Virtual Realty helmet to take a tour around a football stadium.
Once in, they had to wait for the referee to call a virtual
penalty kick, and then shoot. In the other game, Guess
how the game ends, an unfinished soccer game was shown.
Participants had to guess how it ended from a three-option
menu. Whoever guessed correctly was a winner. Both games were
customized for Mastercard (advertising, electronic
signs, etc.) and viewer participation (approximately 750 people)
surpassed all expectations.
"We appreciate the job done by SIA España, as well as its dedication
to our stand throughout the expo. But the most important thing
is that the client was really pleased with the results and
with the impact it had on stand visitors. This was clear by
the amount of people that came to play."
